This course explores First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples’ relationships with Canada from pre-contact to the 21st century. Students will examine social, economic, political and military
interactions that impact the contemporary realities of Aboriginal people in Canada in relation to identity, culture, community, land, and governance. Students will explore their own and others’ ideas using the historical inquiry process to think critically and respond responsibly about civic questions raised today as a result of the changing relationships.
