The Saint Michael Mustangs won their first game of the season in dramatic fashion Wednesday.

Tied 26-26 in overtime against the Saint Francis Phoenix (2-3) — thanks to a game-tying TD run by Austin MacRae with less than 20 seconds left in regulation time — MacRae hooked upon with Connor Cavey for a short pass. Cavey then kicked the ball into the end zone for the game-winning point. Saint Francis had failed to score on the opening possession of overtime.

The 27-26 win ended the Mustangs’ four-game losing streak and saw them conclude the season with a 1-4 record.
